Beer and Hymns Mardi Gras!
This month will be a Mardi Gras theme at Dozen Street bar at 12th & Chicon - which also happens to be right next door to The Original New Orleans Po-Boy and Gumbo Shop. So grab some cajun food beforehand and then come on over for a raucous and rowdy rendition of your favorite hymns (at least two rounds of "When the Saints Go Marching In" guaranteed!)
As always, we will be raising money for good causes here in Austin. In addition to the New Story Festival coming to Huston-Tillotson University next November (www.newstoryfestival.com), we will also be giving to a soon-to-be-determined non-profit organization working there on the east side. The (optional) cover is $10 (cash) at the door or you can pay by card ahead of time on our Eventbrite page. But we don't ever turn anyone away, so come and sing even if you can't afford to give.
This isn't about the beer, of course, it's about the experience, so if alcohol isn't for you, please feel free to order water/soda/etc instead. And please be sure to arrange a safe ride home for yourself if you will be drinking.
And be sure to Like the Austin Beer & Hymns page to stay in the loop on all of our upcoming events!
